I told you! I told you liberals were going to steal the election so that they can conspire to turn this once great country into a slime-ball, socialist shit pit! BUT YOU WOULDN'T LISTEN!?! Liberal Hollywood and video game designer maniacs have poisoned our youth to this terrible, horrible point where one of them became so tragically mentally ill that he overpowered his patriotic mother and stole her guns and murdered her. Then went on one of the most horrific kill-crazy rampages I have ever seen and all of us reeled. I am still in a total funk at what a complete travesty that was, a total and complete rage fueled nightmare brought to us exclusively by a clearly mentally deranged psychopath.
It has taken me all week to even be able to think clearly enough to write up anything about it, no matter how much that liberal sociopath Ahlblogger begged. I am still unsure what really to say other than to point out that this blog's namesake put out a huge post just chock full of crazy, liberal loon bullshit. "Waaaah, we have to do "something" about guns!?" Might as well ban hammers because you smashed your own fingers with one, right? Some nut stabbed 22 people in China the same damn day so surely they will have to ban knives, right? You know, just as soon as I heard that there was a rampage in Connecticut I looked online and each and any post that had anything to do with the tragedy had comments just loaded up, hundreds of them, of liberal, un-American assholes just crying about banning guns. Forget that this shooter was obviously not stopped by any laws already in place nor the fact that there simply couldn't be any law passed that will stop the next mentally ill psycho from going off the deep end after one too many hours in front of Call of Duty.
And instead of taking a long look in the mirror, liberal loons, and admitting to yourselves that you are not safe and the only way to be safe is to protect yourself and your family, you want to magic away all the guns thus further disarming us against a socialist tyrant who just finished stealing an election. And you dare blame the true American patriots who are law abiding citizens who own guns, advocate for them, for you, and protect our families and yours by preserving the second amendment of the constitution. If that principal was armed, if the teachers, or the custodian in that school were trained and proficient with a firearm (like I am) then that despicable psychopath wouldn't have gotten two more steps into the door.
People, the REAL world is a dangerous place and there are REAL risks and these sociopaths who have been weaned on a lifetime of violent television, movies and incredibly realistic video games have been completely desensitized and they will blow you, your children, your grandma, whoever right to hell without a moment's reflection. They don't even see it as real and they think they're justified in doing it. And how you horrible, brainwashed, liberals freaks can sit there even while the floors of that school were still covered in the blood of those innocent children and maintain this insane notion that the guns that nut stole was the real problem while completely ignoring the nut?! Then you all get on your virtual soap boxes and bully anyone sane American and tell us that we're insensitive for trying to explain the truth of the matter? That we're inhuman for defending our constitutional right? Hell, some of you liberal crazies got on TV that very night and tried to pin this whole thing on "gun nuts" and the blasted the NRA (one of the most patriotic organizations in this country) for "enabling this massacre."
Now, it's not surprising that the liberal media would use this opportunity to move aggressively forward in their brainwashing campaigns as there are few entities or people who are more into gun control, hence people control, then the media. It's all part of the bigger conspiracy to exert control on the masses at the behest of the liberal, socialists powers that be. Take away our guns and we're one more step closer to the indentured slavery the Obama administration is pushing for on behalf of the rich liberal loons like George Soros and the United Nations plan to convert the world to a one world government via Agenda 21. The liberal media is nothing but a tool used to perpetrate the greatest crime on American exceptionalism and freedom and help disarm the citizens thus preventing our ability to rise up and fight back and leading more and more of us to go onto the federal dole. Shit this whole shooting may have been set up by the government and the New World Order just to get the gun control ball rolling! And rolling it is as the usual list of NRA enemies have sprung back into action by instantly readying the return of the already proved to fail "assault weapons ban" illegally put forward by criminal, liberal jack-off Bill Clinton in the 1990's.
They will exert control and ban guns from the citizens all while the criminals will remain armed. Drugs are banned too and look how well that has worked?! It's crazy and it's why I am saving money to buy and install an Atlas Survival Shelter behind my home.
We cannot stand to let these liberals keep taking away our freedoms one law at a time, one gun at a time. People, the revolution is coming, the end is near and I recommend you start preparing. I know we all like to pretend these "preppers" are crazy and paranoid and whatnot but I am hear to tell you that this just the liberal media further brainwashing you to believe, "there is nothing to fear, we can all get along, we don't need guns, your families are safe." They even have TV shows made just to isolate and make us look like crazy fools for brainwashed liberals to sit in their big cities and snark about us and masturbate to Al Gore Global Warming videos, or whatever it is these latte sipping idiots have been conditioned to believe.
Meanwhile the streets are full of minority murderers, our children are getting gunned down in their schools and in their movie theaters while they wait to see the latest Hollywood glorification of violence. It's the beginning of the great decline and whether the gird gets knocked out by an EMP or a terrorist nuclear bomb you need to be ready. You need to know how to grow your own food hydroponically, you need to start stocking up canned goods, water and ready to eat freeze dried foods. You need to learn about water purification and god dammit you need to start stockpiling your weapons and ammunition NOW before it's too late and there are none left.
And furthermore, concealed carry permits need to be issued right away so you can protect your family outside of the home, in the mall, in the movie theater, at the park, on the road, THE MENTALLY ILL PSYCHOS ARE EVERYWHERE!!! They also need to train and arm your local school's teachers and administrators so that there will never be another Sandy Hook. It's time for these lazy, usually liberal babysitters to actually acquire a useful skill and protect our children.
I've had it! I am not accepting blame from liberals we can't ban guns it won't work. We have to ban criminals! We have to enforce the laws that already don't work and we need to even the playing field. These kill crazy, desensitized maniacs will be less likely to shoot up schools if they knew that they wouldn't get two feet before being put down. They wouldn't look for the innocent and powerless to exert their insane fantasy of becoming a Hollywood villain that will instantly become a media star for being mentally ill instead of remaining the clueless, sad-sack, nobody they already were. I have the right to bear arms as afforded to me by my God given rights as an American citizen and in these crazy, horrific times I will be damned if I am expected to lay down MY arms in the face of all of these media fueled dangers.
I have been holding off on commenting on the December 14th massacre as doing so wouldn't contribute anything meaningful and I also wanted to take a few days to process some before I posted. In the last few years something like this happens and I am usually blogging away on my initial reactions and media criticisms as soon as I am able to but this event was just so very heinous that I simply couldn't wrap my head around it. It was reminiscent of 9/11, surely not the same as that, but primarily because of the loss of so many children, right before Christmas...It's almost too much. I say almost because of another tragic aspect of this nightmare is that this sort of thing happens so often already, whether it be the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado or an entire family blown up in Afghanistan by one of our drones, it's not really that uncommon these days. It just has that extra layer of unimaginable awful due to the deliberate attack on school children. 20 kids either 6 or 7 years old, executed. Plus the 6 adults charged with their education and safety killed, from all accounts, trying to protect them. There simply isn't words to effectively communicate how terrible it all was.
Naturally, largely due to a massive, unbelievably awful crime scene in what was a worst worse-case scenario, there was a shit-ton of misinformation doled out across all corners of the media online and on television and though I have yet to plunge into the darker, conspiratorial sides of this (it was a shadowy government conspiracy to set up Obama's looming gun collection policy!) I have seen a whole lot of unbelievable bullshit from made up stories about the survivors and some of the victims to bizarre quotes and internet memes said to be attributed to celebrities like Morgan Freeman. Not really that surprising and when things get weird then things get weird. And it truly was weird and it remains weird and really times are just fucking weird. People are weird, civilization is weird, America is weird, the world is weird and I, nor do most people truly, actually understand it anymore. Never did.
What's more is that it took me about 6.7 second to discover that there was a massacre in Connecticut to finding a comment on every article about said tragedy from some crazy, gun nut proclaiming guns are not the problem followed shortly by a "liberal gun control nut's" response that something needs to change. Thus angry, political, flame wars erupted everywhere and carried on and on all weekend long. All of Facebook and Twitter became active pro-gun/anti-gun arguments juxtaposed with mourning and shock. It was painful and surreal and I did my best to tune it out after a while. It was just too much and it was too ugly. All the hateful comments, aggressive justifications and good, old fashioned ignorance. So many people needed to tell the rest of us how they felt, about the massacre, about their stance on guns, mental health, even their media watching (or not watching) habits. It was a time you'd think would draw us closer together generally and instead it seemed to highlight, in stark relief, how far apart we remain. It demonstrated just how worried gun people are that the rest of us don't understand them, the second amendment, or that guns are things and the crazy people are the real problem. While the rest of us think "something" ought to be done about guns, mental health, all of it...Above all something needs to change.

Unreal. Un-fucking-real. How can such a self-indulged nation of narcissist sociopaths such as ourselves ever come back from this cliff? Sometimes I am amazed we, as a nation of people, have even made it this far. Now, it's true that sort of thinking isn't everybody and there are surely good people for every racist scumbag who hate Obama. And we know there's A LOT of people who hate Obama but on this weekend?
Eh, whatever, allow me to digress back to my original, loosely stated thesis here, something has to change. I am not sure what that something, or probably somethings, really need to be as I am not really anti-gun and as many, many people have pointed out ad nauseum all the gun laws in the world would likely have not stopped this from happening (save a complete and total gun ban that was a) effective and b) happened years and years ago so that there just weren't any guns to get nor crazy gun nuts to obsess over them) though that is not an adequate excuse to not put in place some sort of stricter gun safety regulation. Then there's better mental health treatment/access which is needed though I do not possess the expertise to say how that would work. This whole argument, even while just typing it out here, just feels a lot like a snake eating it's own tail and I don't have answers. Just questions, and the need for a discussion that I know I can't have because either side is unable to do so because they already know that THEY'RE RIGHT AND FUCK YOU! Something I fully expect to see if Hamster Running on the Sever Wheel decides to contribute his two cents.
Of all the articles, memes, prayers, pictures, and "facts about guns" articles that have over run my internet cup this weekend there have been two that have really caught my eye. One, by a Gawker author I have read for years and who is not usually known for writing anything along these lines, Drew Magary. I usually read Drew for a lot of dick and poop jokes related to football so it took me by surprise that he came up with such an insightful article. Insightful in that it asks questions that you just don't see much when discussing guns.
One of the amazing things about the gun control debate in America is the
remarkable success with which gun manufacturers—Sig Sauer, Glock, Smith
& Wesson, Ruger, The Freedom Group (yes, it's called the fucking
Freedom Group)—have been able to avoid the conversation altogether. When
you think of Glock, you think of a gun, and not of the company behind
it. That needs to change. We've shit on cigarette companies for lying
about cigarettes. We've shit on Roger Goodell and the NFL for
underplaying head injuries. We're even making inroads against the sneaky
bastards at BIG SUGAR for making us all hopeless fatasses. But here is
an industry—firearms manufacturing—that makes products whose deadliness
is disputed by NO ONE, not even the people who treasure those products.
And yet the executives and shadowy international holding company
execs—whose job is to flood the world with as many of these weapons as
possible—skate by cloaked in blessed anonymity. Wanna know why nothing
ever gets done about gun laws here in the US? This is why.
And that's true! The gun companies have little to nothing to say ever about any of this and no one ever asks. Not that it would make a whole lot of difference right now as it relates to all these dead bodies and in the end there's simply the notion that their guns didn't kill people, people kill people (a lot of them, with guns!). He goes on:
Gun manufacturers have successfully managed to shift virtually all blame
for lax gun laws in America onto their lobbyists and their customers.
It's no coincidence that companies like Sig Sauer, Freedom Group and
Glock (which also made one of the weapons used in the killings) are
privately held. They strive for minimum transparency, and they have
achieved it. The NRA, bless its heart, is a front—a perfect little
whipping boy designed to weather all of your abuse so that Ron Cohen (CEO of Sig Sauer) can
drive to and from his office without a reporter shoving a microphone in
front of his stupid fucking face. They have taken phrases like "Gun
control" and "the Second Amendment" and crafted them into permanent,
bulletproof diversions. They've done such a good job of shielding
themselves that Sig Sauer doesn't even feel compelled to issue a public
statement when one of its weapons is used in a mass tragedy. They don't
have to express their regrets or spew some bullshit about being
dedicated to making sure guns are used safely. Higher profile companies
have to send out public apologies when they send out a bad tweet. Big
Gun does nothing and doesn't have to. Isn't that remarkable?
It kind of is. I also particularly gel with the whole NRA is the front concept because anyone who has ever tried to talk about guns with anyone involved with the NRA knows that you will get no where and you are going to hear a whole hell of a lot of talking points about the protection of families and the rights of armed bears. Drew goes on to discuss the need to get the CEOs of these gun companies on TV, in front of grand juries, or congressional hearings and essentially compares the idea to the way the proverbial they took on the tobacco industry. Who knows if that would provide for this undefined change, or rather help us to define what exact kind change is needed, but it certainly is worth the reflection.
The other article making the rounds, I think, quite succinctly identifies the mental health aspects of these single shooter nightmares we seem to keep having. Not in discussing one of our infamous killers so much as worrying about the son that could become one in "I Am Adam Lanza's Mother," is well worth a read. Again, no answers here but it sure highlights some important questions.
I live with a son who is mentally ill. I love my son. But he terrifies me.
A few weeks ago, Michael pulled a knife and threatened to kill me and
then himself after I asked him to return his overdue library books. His
7 and 9 year old siblings knew the safety plan -- they ran to the car
and locked the doors before I even asked them to. I managed to get the
knife from Michael, then methodically collected all the sharp objects in
the house into a single Tupperware container that now travels with me.
Through it all, he continued to scream insults at me and threaten to
kill or hurt me.
That conflict ended with three burly police officers and a paramedic
wrestling my son onto a gurney for an expensive ambulance ride to the
local emergency room. The mental hospital didn’t have any beds that day,
and Michael calmed down nicely in the ER, so they sent us home with a
prescription for Zyprexa and a follow-up visit with a local pediatric
psychiatrist.
How does one solve this problem exactly? The article goes on to discuss dificulites of getting the kind of mental health "Michael" needs particularly at this stage since he does not yet have a criminal record, or isn't old enough. What will that mom do? What can they do with "Michael?" Institutionalize him? Drug him? what can be done? Tragic, frightening and tragic. This is coming from a non-parent so I can only barely, peripherally begin to understand what this specific situation, let alone the rampage last Friday, means to anyone who is a parent.
A lot of pro-gun types I see around the internet seem to think the answer to all of this is
more guns! Arm that mom and if 13 year old "Michael" attacks, put him
down.These same folks are also advocating for guns in the classroom. If only teachers were armed then a crazy comes in the class and bada-bing, bada-bang the highly trained teacher will be able to dispatch the bad guy with a well placed round right between the eyes, custodial staff come by for a quick clean up and we can move forward with our lessons! No harm, no foul! I am not going to link where I got this next bit from but I think these quotes kind of sum up nicely where some of these people are coming from:

Laws won’t stop people intent on doing harm.
So
what do the law-abiding citizens do? They arm themselves just like they
would in war. There are terror insurgents in the United States
hell-bent on destroying others. That’s a fact.
So, people is people and there is no solution but kill 'em dead! This almost advocates just abolishing laws altogether since apparently people will just break the laws anyway. So, why bother, right? A bunch of gun bans will get ignored by criminals and those of us who are law abiding have no means to defend ourselves. Therefore, everyone should get a Bushmaster AR-15 anything less may as well be a pea shooter. Also, the unstoppable law breaker could just as easily kill their victims with knives, bats, cars, bricks, power tools so then shouldn't we dismiss any nuance and just ban everything that potentially can kill people if applied correctly? So, it's either the complete ban of weapons or everyone should have every weapon. As is usually the case with these folks it is only one way or another, black or white and there is never, ever any form of middle ground or compromise. Just a lot of false equivalence and passionately applied rage.
This person goes on:
Schools should immediately develop a program where every teacher is
trained in how to handle a firearm. All teachers must comply to get
hired. If Israel can do it, why not America? Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America
wrote the following in 2008: “In the mid-seventies, a terrorist
attacked an Israeli school bus, murdering over 30 children. . . . A
majority of Israelis . . . found a compelling reason for putting guns in
schools — terrorists would get guns whether Jews were armed or not. As a
result, schools in border areas, and school buses, were manned with
gun-toting teachers or others assigned to be at the ready.”
Signs should be posted around the school that read:
“The
teachers and administrators of this school are armed and trained in
deadly force. Anybody attempting to enter the school intending to do
harm will be shot on sight.”
No reasoning with the unreasonable. Let's just convert our schools to rootin' tootin' saloons in the old west! A lot of schools apparently are considering arming teachers or at least having armed security patrolling the halls. Every school in America has re-evaluated their lock-down plans and official plans to deal with a shooter on campus. Every parent in America was nervous about bringing their children to school today because no one can say with any certainty that won't happen again. That this unthinkable nightmare will now become some sort of status quo that we will all need to deal with today. "Oh look, that pre-school down the street got shot up again!" In the end, it's plain and simple that everyone is afraid and the great American culture of fear continues.
Who knows where this will go,
probably no where, as the Christmas is coming and, despite the absolute
horror of 20 (TWENTY!) little kids being murdered in a classroom, this
too will fade away as the next big media orgy rolls out, and the next
one, and the one after that. Diane Fienstein says she will be putting forward that assault
weapons ban next month, the same one from the 1990's which surely caused America's NRA members' pulses to rise precipitously. Surely that will quietly get torpedoed away as usual, but you never know, even some conservative politicians, even a few with the wondrous NRA A grade, are coming forward today and saying maybe they need some practical gun control on the books. Who knows if that will stick or if it would make a lick of difference towards much of anything.

And that apparently Anonymous claims to have actually thwarted a plot by Karl Rove and friends from stealing the election? I find this amazingly entertaining! I mentioned back in November when discussing Rove's mini-meltdown live on Fox that it just felt like watching some sort of super-villain finally get his on live TV. Now I have make believe evidence that is exactly what happened!
Naturally, I have no way to prove that this is true and honestly it feels like it's malarkey...but...there's still that little, naive boy inside of me that enjoys lapping this kind of shit up! It's like UFOs or ghost stories, probably garbage though highly entertaining garbage. I first heard about this whole thing over the Thanksgiving holiday so a little post-turkey Google action yielded this from Salon by Natasha Lennard:
A release claiming to be from hacker collective Anonymous alleges
there was more behind Rove’s freak-out than first met the eye. The group
says that it foiled Rove’s attempt to steal the election in Florida, Virginia and Ohio by using the GOP’s ORCA system.
Two
weeks prior to Election Night, a typical Anonymous video was released
warning Rove against rigging the election. “We want you to know that we
are watching you, waiting for you to make this mistake of thinking you
can rig this election to your favor,” Anonymous’ ubiquitous Guy Fawkes
character warned.
Then, following Obama’s win and Rove’s very
public outburst, a group calling themselves “The Protectors,” believed
to be comprised of Anonymous hackers, sent a letter to election
transparency non-profit, Velvet Revolution, claiming to have thwarted
attempts by GOP strategists to flip votes and rig the election in three
swing states.
Oh, so, so magnificent! Naturally, there is no real way to prove much of anything and in the end it boils down to either choosing to believe it, or not. I am not enough of a techno-dweeb to truly understand how this could have worked in the first place so I am a perfect sort of person who can just take this at face value and assume that what I read is true:
The letter claims that the GOP’s ORCA — a GOTV (Get Out the Vote)
system — was in fact designed to rig votes in favor of Romney (although
the letter does not verify this or specify how ORCA was designed to do
this.) The Protectors claim that they installed a password protected
firewall to block attempts to digitally rig votes:
We
coded and created, what we call, The Great Oz. A targeted password
protected firewall that we tested and refined over the past weeks. We
place this code on more than one of the digital tunnels and their
destination’s that Karl’s not so smart worker bees planned to use on
election night.
The Protectors alleged
these “digital tunnels” were leading to servers in three different
states. The release claims that Rove’s operatives attempted to
unsuccessfully breach The Great Oz firewall to access these tunnels
throughout election night. “We watched as Karl’s weak corrupters
repeatedly tried to penetrate The Great Oz. These children of his were
at a loss-how many times and how many passwords did they try? — exactly
105.”
Sounds legitimate to me! Hell, I feel like Hamster when he published that ridiculous Agenda 21 thing earlier this year. The same quoted article goes on to question the validity of this claim and even asks a few pertinent questions that make it seem even more unlikely that is nothing but fictional fluff. Though I kind of like it even if it is fictional fluff, in fact, it probably IS fictional fluff and it still makes me smile as the real reporter types have no way to verify this story either. A few days after the first story I linked came out there was also this from the Daily Caller:
The left-wing Velvet Revolution, which works to investigate and prove instances of electronic election tampering, offered IT specialists a $1 million reward for proof of instances of electronic election tampering during the 2012
cycle. The Velvet Revolution is particularly suspicious of Republicans.
Following the election, Velvet Revolution says they received a letter
from a hacktivist group — referring to itself as “we protectors of
democracy” — that claimed it was responsible for the program’s technical
failures, and that it had found a system in place to electronically rig the election in three states.
Oh? Really? But...
The letter did not offer any proof of its allegations.
Oh, then why bother posting it in the first place?
“Regarding the Protectors letter, we posted the reward asking for
info about electronic manipulation of the vote and then right after the
election we received ‘The Protector’ letter at our POBox,” said Kevin
Reese, an attorney for Velvet Revolution and a board member, in a press
statement.
“We posted it not because we are vouching for it but because it is
news, and it seems to corroborate the Anonymous video that came out two
weeks before the election warning Rove not manipulate the election,”
Reese said.
I see, then it does generate some web traffic, eh? WHO WOULD EVER POST SUCH UNSUBSTANTIATED GARBAGE LIKE THIS ONLINE?!

It's true, I needed a few days to wrap my head around Tuesday's results, which I am sad to say, took me by surprise. I mean, I KNEW the dumocrats were fixin' the election, I KNEW they were going to try and steal this one I guess I just allowed myself to believe that the righteous would prevail, that Team Romney had made the case, and America was going to get it's chance at becoming America again. Alas, once you are a foreigner installed illegally into the White House then I guess you're gonna stay.
What a sad reality it has become. What an amazing tragedy that even with all of freedom loving, tea party leadership might we as a country still allowed this travesty, this great crime, to unfold right before our eyes on television, online, everywhere. It was the most watched crime ever committed...The thievery of democracy. The condoned rape of the constitution and manipulation of the electoral college. Jesus H! Ok, some of this I can foist unto ourselves as none of us, especially me, cared much for Romney in the first place so it is our fault letting the weakest candidate go forward and squander what should have been an easily winnable election. I never truly bought that Romney fellow as I have clearly supported Ron Paul all this time. That combined with Sandy swaying more liberals to think they believe B. Hussein's Kenyan muslimania...Hell, it was so powerful that traitor Chris Christie even fell under his spell and stabbed the real America right in the back.
Man, and what horror to come? Now we are sure to become a third world country, like Greece combined with East Slovakistanakraine where it rains all the time and we have to wait in bread lines for days just to get one moldy loaf with some government cheese. The streets will run with bloody diarrhea from all our dysentery and people will die in yet another line at the government healthcare clinic that'll have six month waits. Socialism has won which only means that some catastrophe will come along, whether it be a hurricane, or something manufactured by Dear Leader Obama, and it will be blamed on make-believe global warming and it will somehow allow for Obama to declare marshall law and give himself a third term, fourth term untill he dies in office and appoints one of his socialist, psychotic children to become "President." The New World Order has won.
Big business will finally pack up and move to China leaving us with no jobs, no manufacturing, and leaving behind a bunch of poor minorities with their hands out. "No habla ingles? Obama free phone? Welp, thought it would be closer. Thought it would be a stressful evening that could very well end in upset and instead it was practically a joy to watch. Never the less, my expectation was that Obama would have no difficulty carrying Illinois without my vote and I was right (about 57.3%) as they called Illinois the moment the polls closed with 0% reporting at the time. Just like the rest of the librul media on TV I thought surely this election would drag well into the night so we we're all surprised together that it was called just after 10:00 p.m. central. Which was nice, would have been nicer if Romney wouldn't have wasted another hour and half of our time hemming and hawing about conceding...Though without it we wouldn't have had this:
Quite possibly the greatest Fox News moment I have yet to witness. It was amazing. It was not unlike when the heel wrestler gets beat by the face...It was almost a Hollywood ending...If you are of a liberal persuasion that is. As you know, since you are reading this, there are literally hundreds of thousands of undecided voters in the country presently hemming and hawing over who it is they will actually vote for in 2012. Naturally, one look at the webhit stats of this fine website proves that most of those people regularly visit this blog regardless of the fact that there has been barely 9 posts in over the course of this heated, election year. Worry no more, undecided voter! I have made your decision for you!
But first, let's take a time consuming, pointless look back...As nearly all readers will remember, this blog officially endorsed Barack Obama back in 2008. You might also remember that I was quite excited about Obama and his prospects for victory and potential for change where I made many a proclamation and somewhat accurately predicted that Republicans would likely have conspiracy kittens should Obama win. Win he did, conspiracy kittens were had, raised, released, slaughtered and then reborn to be insane conspiracies anew. IF Obama wins this time I simply cannot imagine what the right will do this time. And that is saying a lot as I constantly think I have seen it all with those people and their crackpot, conspiratorial paranoia. I am still a little amazed that they have let Mitt Romney get this far!
Part of me still believes, though it'll be close, Obama is going to pull it out again. Which is why this stupid blog officially endorses Jill Stein! I said last time that we all really needed to get on board with Obama last time around and that we can all vote independent next time! Welp, it's next time and gawd dammit this country needs a third party to be taken seriously. She gets 5% she won't get arrested outside of a debate in 2016. Long shot? You bet! My gawd! This blog was electric with nearly weekly posts during the 2008 election cycle?! What has happened this time? The whole RNC happened and there hasn't been a post on here since early June. The average number of daily hits on this weblog has been ZERO. Which means nobody comes here, nobody posts here, nobody reads any of this and the only way to make that change is to POST SOME SHIT!
Sadly, this blog is in hiatus. Never one to say never but other writing projects have take precedence over this blog and frankly, at this point in time, this author is exhausted with politics. Tuned out, turned off, overwhelmed with disappointment, underwhelmed with the rhetoric. The lies, the schadenfreude, it's no longer entertaining just awful. I can taste the smell of victory in the air friends! WE ARE THE WINNERS! Scott Walker, American Patriot and HERO, WON his liberal attack recall election last night. Decisively, conclusively and without question he trounced Milwaukee liberal, idiot, union stooley mayor Tom Barret with 59% of the vote to Barret's paltry 40%. Which shows you about 40% of Wisconsin are liberal delusional union members who are stuck living in some social contract reality while the remaining 59% of Wisconsin voters can see the forest for the trees and did what is right. This is just the beginning of the Tea Party tidal wave that is coming to wash America clean of it's stupid, socialist liberals and finally get back to being the enterprising, free Republic it's supposed to be. Seriously, what a friggin' relief. Chicago made it through the NATO summit with a few injuries but no flaming shit bottles, no massive, burning riots, no flipped cars, no smashed windows. Like the Trib says:
Once again, the whole world was watching. But Chicago didn't devolve into 1968 redux. It wasn't the combustible World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle, either.
By that barometer, Chicago's turn as host of the NATO summit could be declared a success.
Protests got rowdy but not wildly out of hand. Security was tight but the city wasn't on lockdown, allowing the business of the summit to proceed. Commuters were inconvenienced but by and large could get where they needed to go — and many decided where they needed to go was nowhere near downtown.
I actually went downtown on Saturday of NATO weekend but not because I wanted to protest, or at least see a protest, because I had class. I was actually pretty worried about going. I thought maybe it might be too crazy down there combined with the Cubs vs. Sox crosstown classic going on, it just didn't seem worth it. However, I also had a feeling it was getting over hyped as the media was practically sobbing about it on TV/online for two solid weeks leading up to the summit. I intended to write something here about it prior to but rather than give into dark speculation as is my usual want I decided to wait it out and post some of my thoughts once the event was good and done. Once I knew the "black-block" tactic was, or was not employed, and that the media was doing their usual fear mongering song and dance.
And thank the motha' fuckin' maker that nothing too serious went down. I really have found myself of two minds on this whole thing as the liberal in me thinks the protests are valid, justified, and all involved have every right to peaceably assemble and make their non-violent statements and so on and so forth. The liberal in me is also concerned about the pseudo police state mentality Chicago has adopted and, for that matter, the country as a whole has adopted. The way that the "war on terror" and the creation of the homeland security complex has combined with and complemented the already existing, bloated and terrible "war on drugs" backed with a nice dose of the industrial prison corporations. Then all of that is seasoned with; warrant less spying, illegal incarcerations, home invasions, citizen assassinations condoned and/or conducted by government just to name a few things. Leaving out the expanding militarization of police forces in general by way of storm trooper armor, incapacitating technologies (stun guns, pepper sprays, et. al.), and increasing use of unmanned cameras (not to mention civilian drone programs coming to an airspace near you soon) there really is a lot for Joe Citizen to worry about. It's bloated government that both sides ought to be worried about.
That all said, it's hard to fault the city for taking the course of action it did. It would be ludicrous to not have the jacked up presence because no one wants what happened in Seattle in the nineties to happen here. So, you take the good with the bad, I guess. Though, one could argue the Chicago and state PD seemed ready for an all out war. I saw the Coast Guard in the Chicago River and for the life of me I can't figure out what the machine guns were for.
Were the riot brigades going to force violent protests the sides of the bridge to be shot up by these boats? Who knows?! At least they didn't have to do any shooting, no burning, no flung shit and that I am grateful for the all the police and the work they had to do this past weekend. The police had to work 12 hour shifts and they have been panning for this for a year or more and "police state worries" aside, I am grateful for their hard work and glad they succeeded in keeping the city safe. I just can't help but also flip the coin and ask just how free are we really when you need this level of militarization?
Not to mention, and I am not claiming ALL cops are like this, but a lot of them see these protest as an opportunity to bust some heads. Beat some hippies, crush some liberals...Hell, I know a fireman who said those people should be shot for making them have to do all this riot stuff. That they should just show up and kill all the protesters because, I guess, they are no good, dirty, unemployed lay-a-bouts who are nusy holding "F the police" rallies and dare to march in direct opposition to the law. Apparently those people can cram their so-called "rights" up their ass with a stun baton for good measure. Again, I am of two minds, I can see both sides of this fence and there are no better answers that I can come up with.
You people want to know why America is the laughing stock of the world? Because we are so obsessed with celebrities that we will elect one as President rather than a qualified, experienced, serious person who would, you know, actually do something to make America better. Especially in these dark times brought onto us by this liberal regime.

Due to numerous obligations outside of this here blog for both contributors we simply have not been able to post nearly as much this year as last, so far anyway. But I would be remiss to not stop in on the day the presumed Republican nominee has finally stepped out from the fog of primary war to claim his title as the official presumed Republican nominee for the 2012 presidential election. Congratulations Mitt Romney! You are wiener! Thanks largely to the frothy-fecal one finally "suspending" his campaign today so there is nobody left (Gingrich and Ron Paul are figments of your imagination!).
The Republicans will now join hands across America and declare that it is now time for the GOP, and all her fine supporters, to unite and "get behind Mitt Romney" so that they can defeat that bad, bad man Barack Obama. Again, due to a fore mentioned obligations current and coming up, I am not sure just how much coverage you will see here at least until late summer but we will do our best to keep our usually dribbling low of a post or two a month. At least I will as I cannot speak for how many conspiracy theories Hamster Running on the Server Wheel will randomly vomit all over the blog as he's a busy guy too.
One cannot help but wonder if this will become a historically ugly election reflective of the circus that was the Republican nomination process these last several months. It is entirely possible that the election will simply be dull. Sure, there will be negative ads and those who are against Obama are really fucking against Obama and they will be salacious even if their nominee is Bert from Sesame street. Which, for all intensive purposes, Obama may as well be running against a muppet.
How are those numbers going anyhow? Welp, according to TPM's poll tracker, not too shabby if you like yourself some Obama. As of this writing their overall average is Obama 48% vs. Romney 43.2% but that will surely change over the course of the year...a lot. Not to mention that is an aggregation that is surely just filled with liberal bias, in the end, it could very likely be a pretty close election. Largely due to the hatred for Obama...which is also the problem, voting out of hate or spite isn't a positive and no one is really all that excited over Romney. Sure, anything can and does happen and while I am confident of a Romney loss it can't possibly be assured. Still ,said it before, say it again, I smell John Kerry all over this Romney fellow.
That said, when you talk to, or usually listen to (because there's usually no 'talking to' involved with your typical Obama hater) an Obama hater you really get a supreme sense of loathing and a nearly psychopathic longing to paint similar epithets to what was often ascribed to Bush II. It's as if these people were hurt by his failures and awful presidency so much that they have been waiting with bated breath from the second Obama cinched the Democrat nomination in 2008 to paint him a failure, the worst president in history, arrogant, liar, and on and on and on. They are the most amazing, hypocritical, insane people when it comes to this stuff and I honestly think I have seen and heard it all until some rube comes up from the murk and takes it to a whole new level. Not to pick on my co-contributor too much, but Hamster and his whole Agenda 21 piece from February just blew me away. It literally was a snake eating it's tail and truly demonstrated the mania these people seem to suffer from.
I do believe that when it comes time for Ahlblog to officially endorse a candidate this October it could be a little different than the, "please don't vote for anyone but Obama" endorsement I put up back in 2008. We may have to split our delegates though I will confess there is quite A LOT I don't like about President Obama, so many disappointments, so many perceived diversions from what I thought Candidate Obama was/said. Like a lot of people, I was taken with him too and while I was certain I wasn't going to get everything I was hoping for I did believe he was really going to put a real stop to so much of what was wrong about the Bush years. In particular, the state secrets, the Guantanamo closing, the end to all the spying and gross abuse of executive powers and instead he seemed to double down on all of that plus threw in citizen assassinations, increase in drone attacks, bizarre whistle-blower attacks, no transparency, and this is barely shaving the top of the ice berg. After reading a little about this "jobs bill" recently passed I start wondering just how different would a Romney presidency actually be? Probably different enough to just go with the devil you know rather than installing a different empty suit. That's a lot of money to spend on nothing. But who knows...Hopefully, it will be fun to watch!

See, this global conspiracy has been so well thought through and executed that it's tendrils have trickled all the way down to your local government. don't believe me? go to your next town hall, village council meeting, whatever version of government your hometown has and see for yourself. They have even co-opted the Tea Party movement by claiming that a lot of these so-called, "green projects" and "sustainable development projects and/or programs" are being put forth in your town because they want to "limit waste, and save money" but really they are all a means of social control allowing for big government to further intervene in your individual freedoms and micromanage the entire planet down to the last individual. These "Sustainablists" will insist that every societal decision in your country, your state, your county, town, and your own property be based on
"environmental impact." They will do this by focusing on three broad aspects then water them down to your front porch; land use,
education, and population control and reduction.
They will say that it's only fair and force you, the true, exceptional American to abide by social justice...Which, we all know, social justice is described as the right and opportunity of all people

They will achieve this by:
Redistribution of wealth.
Private property is a social
injustice since not everyone can build wealth from it.

You have seen already how Barack Obama has worked towards these goals by implementing Obamacare and his latest effort to force the church to adopt Obamacare. You see, buried in the liberal agenda of nationalized health care is the clause that all Americans are required to have access to birth control and abortions by law.
The law entails that all health plans provide “preventive services” free
of charge. This previously included the sorts of things you would want
to have to prevent disease. This would include child vaccinations,

would want from time to time. Now Kathleen Sibelius has decided to add
contraception to include RU-486. Secretary Sibelius issued the following news release.
RU-486, of course, is the abortion pill thus the liberal socialist once again show their true color. They want to limit your growth and control population growth with legalized, simple, pill-based abortions and, naturally, implement anathema policies of euthanasia previously discussed to decide whether or not they should pull the plug on grandma. It was initially claimed that the Catholic Church, for freedom of religion purposes (See, Constitution, The. First Amendment), would be waived of this requirement. As you may have already heard, this turns out to not be the case:
Archbishop Timothy Dolan had previously made his concerns about this
plan known to President Obama in a personal audience with the president
at the White House. He had been informed that the Obamacare mandate
would not be forced upon the various services and schools run by The
American Catholic Church.
However, like most of what Barack Obama promises, this guarantee came
with an expiration date. That expiration date was 20 January 2012.
Secretary Sibelius explains below.
After evaluating comments, we have decided to add an
additional element to the final rule. Nonprofit employers who, based on
religious beliefs, do not currently provide contraceptive coverage in
their insurance plan, will be provided an additional year, until August
1, 2013, to comply with the new law.
Timothy Dolan responded to this obvious betrayal in language that was
about as forceful as you could expect to hear from a man of the cloth.
He explains how the decision has now forced The Catholic Church to start
funding insurance coverage for abortions and sterilizations as of 1
August 2013.

It MUST be true, right? Actually, I don't know. While I am a fairly regular Chicago Tribune reader I tend not to read the opinion section much. Which is kind of odd considering I spend some of my internet time writing an opinion blog but for whatever reason I tend to never bother with the editorial sections. I have read John Kass maybe two, three times over the years and I have no real bone to pick with him nor do I have anything particularly positive to say other than I think he can be funny in a snarky sort of way. Also, like a lot of the writers at the Trib, he's a conservative...Or was, as he claimed recently he's now an independent. Whatever, I think I am an independent too I am just more of a lefty one to his righty, Reagan lover-ness. Anywho, this post isn't really about Kass so much as it's a little bit about a recent editorial that was brought to my attention, "Barack Obama wins in '12" in which he says:
He knows who he is. And the Republican politicians don't know who they
are. They've forgotten what they're about, or perhaps like some isolated
tribe, they've lost the language necessary to explain it to themselves.
Their voters know this and don't really believe them anymore.
And that's why Obama will win.
And the Republican establishment that seeks to unseat him?
Their guy Mitt Romney
calls himself a conservative. But he's really a John Kerry in
Republican clothing, right down to the phony laugh, and his past flips
and flops will haunt him in defeat.
My favorite part of that whole bit is that Mitt's a Republican John Kerry thus magically validating my own theory I have written about a time or two in 2011. So, YAY for that but what this really did was give me an opportunity to play my favorite game with my blog...Cut and Paste hateful, asshole, conservative whining anonymously and respond to them here, where they won't see it, for entertainment purposes. That and the fact that I know responding to them online at the Trib, or any other comments section elsewhere on the internet, is a fruitless endeavor as there's no mind changing when it comes to this bullshit. The funny thing is these people have been saying that Obama is the worst in history, or a disaster, or whatever, since day one so when did they ever lift their heads from their tarry sands to bother to notice anything that was actually happening. So, so many commenters, who also tend happen to be rancid assholes, always start 90% of their comments with some form of "bwah ha ha ha ha" which really lends to the whole mega-maniacal, super villain image I like to ascribe to these fuckers. Another common theme my insane friend, and this is something I am guilty of doing as well, is the "everybody I know," or in the above case all the furious Democrats who apparently commented on another article he read, thinks what I think so therefore NO ONE could possibly think otherwise. Therefore, EVERYBODY doesn't care who it is who will be running against Obama they're voting for them. As usual, he also refers to him as Barry because it's disrespectful to call him President Obama and they won't publish his comment if he typed what he'd really prefer, "that nigger."

I remember thinking exactly like this during the run up to the 2004 election. I wasn't particularly in love with Kerry at the time but I sure as shit wanted to see Bush lose. I couldn't see it any other way which is partially why I am fairly certain I am seeing the same thing happen with Mitt. I was certain Bush had ruined America, lead us into two debacle and illegal wars and fostered a Big Brother culture into existence right out of Orwell via the Patriot Act, illegal torture, spying, tax cuts for the rich, the whole bit that I was shocked, shocked I tell you, that Kerry lost. This showed in the voting, as he garnered almost 55% of the vote.
Kerry did not have the national support that most of his followers beleived he had.

Basically, these people have been sick about Obama from day one and no amount of accomplishment, numbers, favor-ability ratings, polls, or otherwise would or could ever change that in a million trillion years. From the very day Obama got the nomination these people have been just dying to paint him the worst thing that has ever happened to the country and to them. Some of them are even a little bitter that THAT is what happened to W. By the time the second term was nearing it's end it was obvious that America's greatest president, a sentiment many of these mentally ill people truly believed, was really an asshole who did nothing but move forward an insane neo-con agenda with aims to further foster our empire.
And he did so poorly at that all while lowering taxes for the rich and removing silly regulations on housing essentially fanning the flames of what was to become "the Great Recession." Naturally, to these fine folks, this is all somehow Obama's fault and one is no longer allowed to bring up Bush without getting, "Yeah, SURE, blame BUSH, it's all Bush's fault...That was three years ago, stop living in the past dummy!" Then they will bring up Clinton, Al Gore and Jimmy Carter with no sense of irony or appreciation for history or anything else. That same, rigid, "black or white," "this or that," simple minded thinking is what will always be their downfall, "Everyone thinks this!" "Everybody I know KNOWS that." It's both funny and sad. Obama 2012! Why? Because fuck you!

Like most posts on Facebook it is complete and utter bullshit. The story itself is merely one of a million "e-mail forwards" passed frantically among the over 50 set who only recently learned how to attach things to e-mail. And when I say it's bullshit, I mean the actual story is bullshit (here's Snopes) but that's not what bothers me about this piece. Nor does the fact that it's recycled "right wing, thoughtful, thinking stuff" that has been around some 15 years and sometimes swaps out communism for socialism (because conservative idiots can't tell the difference). It's that it is now tagged to Obama and continues to labor under the delusion that he, and apparently most liberal arts colleges and all of their students, are real, honest to goodness, socialists.
Now, I will leave the stereotype of the liberal arts college for another time as there are people at every college who are liberal, conservative, overtly political, and young and naive and so on and so forth. The myth that is being perpetuated above, and has been to an extreme since 2007, is that Obama is a socialist who is actively trying to implement socialism into the system thus turning America into a socialist republic. Which, again, is tantamount to communism to these fine folks because...Well, mostly because these people are fucking stupid. Obama is a lot of things but a socialist isn't one of them. In fact, I am starting to wonder why people even think of him as liberal at all as he is almost as conservative as one can be and still refer to themselves as a Democrat. Shit, it's getting harder to look at most Democrats and actually think of most of them as true liberals. They are merely more liberal-ish than the moon-dog, tea-partied, right wingers. And that's not saying much.
This isn't even an attempt to disagree with the over all thesis of the made up story posted above. Socialism, like any extreme philosophy rigorously applied in stark, black and white, "by the book" terms as often fantasized by those on the right (which also shows their rigid thinking in action) would fail assuming any of the events of the "classroom scenario" or some the above 5 "best sentences ever to be read" were applied and adhered to in such an exacting manner. The problem comes in partially because no system could be so dramatically transformed into this socialist textbook in such a way that all would participate as described in the above fever dream. That aside, the intent is to demonstrate what "might happen" or show the reader what the evil, liberal Obama "really wants." So, let's examine the 5 best sentences ever one by one and see if this is something that is even, like, happening at all.
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
This is true, they will never be able to legislate literally taking all the wealth from the wealthy and redistribute it to the poor. Though, if you could, the poor would temporarily be less poor and even the playing field and all that but that would never last. The poor would become the rich and the rich would eventually become the poor as there probably is no way to truly have an even playing field. Furthermore, it's a fucking fantasy to think that even if, and this is an unbelievably hypothetical IF, there could be some law passed by some imaginary Congress that would somehow make wealthy people literally give their money to the poor that they wouldn't find some way, some loop hole, some method or move to get the fuck out of that fucking shit straight away. You know, just like they skip out on taxation now. Also, here in reality, the top 5% may get (and I must stress MAY) a small percentage increase in taxes probably back to Bill Clinton like levels and this is what they call socialism. Something that hasn't actually happened yet, and might not happen at all, kind of like when Obama comes for their guns.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. This one, to me, is almost veiled racism and harkens back to the old Reagan trope about the "welfare momma" which is essentially code for "lazy, black people" but can be shared equally among any potentially lazy minority. It also refers to rising taxes which could be used for roads, infrastructure, schools, and a bunch of other liberal stuff like that but really, apparently, go into the pockets of layabouts who do nothing but game the system to get their extravagant lifestyle paid for. Just look at the ghetto and insert whatever veiled, angry, white person talk about their clothes, and their shoes, and perhaps something about fried chicken and "eating out all the time, I can't eat out all the time?!" And beyond the veiled sanctimony it's really mostly a meaningless statement that has nothing to do with much of anything besides white people's hate fantasy.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. Again, forgoing that whole infrastructure, military, money, blah blah blah thing this basically re-states, "They are taking MY MONEY and giving it to ______________ (insert your own racial epitaph)." That's kind of the thing with these folks, and well most people really, it's all about the benjamins and so we're left with this greedy, out for myself, atmosphere that seems to do nothing but breed ignorance and hatred. Oh, but it gives you inspiration to work hard so that you to can one day become a wealthy person and live the American dream...As it has been entitled to thee!
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it! Unless, all the dividends are carefully and skillfully invested in separate but successful stocks! By criminy THAT almost sounds like capitalism? Essentially, more buzz word usage by implying that they are going to take away the good people's money, prevent the rest of the good people from being able to reach those wealthy, dreamt of, rich people heights and thus all will be in a glum, even playing field waiting for their loaf of bread where no one can excel and no one will win AND WE WON'T BE NUMBER ONE AND IT WILL FAIL!?!?! Also, the poor darkies and brown people will simply drag everyone down to their level and the American class will all share in their F's because those people don't want to work they want it easy and live in single room apartments with 15 other relatives and family friends in the ghetto and live on McDonald's and whatever they sell at the dollar store FOREVER! Because that's the kind of life those who do need food stamps and welfare tend to actually live. Sure, there's exceptions and even people who are poor who use illegal drugs (another can of worms about drug testing people on welfare, those filthy, filthy poor people!)

And no matter what Obama has done nary a thing, other than push a moderate, "health care" plan that still somehow aids and abets insurance companies and has dared mention that really fucking rich people might (again fucking MIGHT) see a small tax increase in his next term then he is a Socialist and wants and works for all of the above.
So remember there IS a test coming up and it's the 2012 election and guess what? Most of us already fucking failed! You are already duped, you were duped 30 years ago when Reagan showed up and fucked us all! You continue to cling to these outdated, quaint fantasies that have zero to do with reality. Both parties are serving NOT YOU. Both parties are aiding and abetting the movement of everyone's wealth and it's NOT GOING IN YOUR POCKETS. Socialism isn't going to happen and it wouldn't work, and for the record neither is communism (stupid) we got us a bonafide Oligarchy friends and guess who's not in that club? YOU!
