Oh me oh my, my left leaning-ness has been repudiated and I stand before you (textually) a humbled and defeated occasional blogger. Clearly, I have been wrong, wrong, wrong on every thought and abstract stand I have ever taken. Our two-year, nightmare, liberal, apocalypse has finally been dealt it's death blow as the right (as in correct) people have stormed from sea to shining sea and have taken the country back. They have saved us from ourselves and our tendency to socialize and re-distribute wealth to all the poor minorities and illegal aliens and stopped us from trying to confiscate all the guns from upstanding, law abiding, white folk. They have saved us from implementing health care and made us realize it's not the insurance companies' fault that they are raising rates, it's the liberal-stupid-democruds who MADE them do that. Now we know as we heard America's primal scream loud and clear last night.

Gosh, I am actually relieved! Not unlike an abused spouse is relieved that they didn't have to tell the authorities anything when they responded to all the screaming and broken glass at our trailer, we don't have to face up to this radical, horrible, terrible idea of implementing some highly compromised pseudo-changes to our public policy. And instead we can just continue fucking over everybody so the rich can keep getting richer and everyone else can while their days away looking for their bootstraps to pull themselves up by. PHEW!

Things are really going to get better right away too! Just as soon as this next lame duck session oozes on by we can get to the syrupy goodness of:

In all seriousness, while I can't say that I am happy or ecstatic about the regaining of the house last night, I can't say I am all that sad. Now those folks will actually have to do stuff. Come up with policies, attempt to implement something beyond well organized election cycles and talking points and so forth. Somehow I have a hard time believing they will be all that successful especially with super insane types like Rand Paul involved, though it does seem he has been bought and sold too. We will just have to see; will this be a new era of partisan compromise to a better tomorrow? Will it be another late 1990's like era of subpoenas and empty scandals filled with loads of mock outrage and impeachment attempts? Or will it be an intensified gridlock of do nothing but bitch and moan and filibuster and then another pendulum swing come 2012?

Maybe it will be all three!

And remember, oh my friends, that these are just the tremors before the political earthquake hits on Tuesday. So to my friends on the RIGHT, here comes your early Christmas present! To ...my friends on the LEFT, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Bwah hah hah hah hah!

The Republicans might win some elections therefore everything that ever happened in 2008 will be totally and completely wiped away! Change is coming, again, and everything is going to be magically better. How, you say? Well, by stopping that Obama from doing all that stuff that he hasn't done be cause he is a do nothing Muslim Socialist who hates America!

It makes complete sense when you think about it like this: *puts gun to head, fires, empties entire skull, drools*

The only real amazing thing about this election is that the right has sort of re-surged in this crazier, stupider fashion and that anyone is buying it. The lack of history or perception on display is nothing short of absurd. I am not as panicked or depressed as I maybe ought to be partially because, like the media has programmed many to think, I am disillusioned, unmotivated and disappointed in the way things are going too.

Why this is not the change enough I voted for in 2008 dag-nabit!

However, I am unwilling to hand any keys back over to the assholes who got us deeper into this shit hole in the first place either. So, I voted independent (mostly) again which is more or less throwing my vote away but fuck it. Apparently the masters of the universe have instructed the media to instruct us that the Republicans have won Congress and some senate seats anyways, right? Who cares, right? Why vote at all, right?

Well, wrong, I still voted and I never bought the every vote not for Democraps is a vote for the Refucklicans because I have the right to vote my conscience once in a while, particularly, with state and local shit as in Illinois there were many Green candidates for many of the elections and, with several exceptions, I gave votes to those fuckers somewhat out of spite and somewhat out of my continued naivete that somehow alternative, third parties will magically begin getting a say. *dies laughing*

That said, the ugly, polarization of America has reached new lows that have even managed to turn me off of politics. Why I haven't posted a political rant on here since the spring mostly because I am tired of it. Tired of the game, the bullshit and the lowly, disgusting display put on by these Tea-Party assholes. That, and the middle of the road, compromise machine that is averaging their way through a Presidency and while I cannot say they have done nothing and so on, I can say, as a semi-member of the "professional left" that much is left to be desired. Especially when it comes to rolling back Bush shit related to the wars, rendition, wire-tap privacy, state secrets, assassinations, et. al. Absolutely soul crushing that this shit is still around. Power corrupts and it takes a certain kind of someone to actually give up powers and those kinds of someones tend not to be in politics anymore. Could use a Carter or Eisenhower right about now as opposed to a see-saw or mentally deficient obstructionist.

Whatever, it's the rich who run things and it's the rich who always win, if not, they'll find a loop hole and win eventually. They will manipulate the poor, they will manipulate their media tools, to keep us divided and stupid. So, we piss and moan and fight and argue and make ridiculous statements and take meaningless stands on abstract, selfish, pointless, principles that ultimately do nothing but create emotional friction and accomplish nothing. The next two years could very well become a meandering governmental gridlock doing nothing but stalling, fighting and quite possibly pursuing any number of empty political scandals and impeachment attempts not unlike what we saw at the end of the Clinton years. The right's goal is to defeat the left, not actually make anything better, improved or do anything else that might be considered governing. Outside of doing whatever possible to clear the way for our big business masters to profit and keep the richest 1% as rich as possible and everyone else to shut the fuck and enjoy those freedoms we had.

But it sure makes for some compelling television news cycles, don't it?

4 Dor: Chapter 3, "Freed Brian"

I ended Chapter one of this surprising pile of posts with:

Did he snap and do this bizarre crime, and therefore continue the charade in jail and even to his own family, leading them to make this spectacle? Or is he truly innocent and the law enforcement machine behind his arrest have a bone to pick with him, were desperate for a collar, or are simply inadequate beyond even Lynwood's finest?

And wouldn't you know that it apparently was a faulty law enforcement machine after all:

third construction worker, who is 19, escaped unharmed and identified Dorian after being shown an 8-year-old driver's license photograph of the officer, sources said.

But Keith Dahl, 64, an Indiana farmer who was shot and robbed of $60 about 40 minutes later by a man who asked about honeybees, was unable to identify Dorian when he was shown a photo array in the hospital, police said.

Well, fuck, even I was leaning towards believing he was guilty primarily because I had as hard a time believing law enforcement would fuck over one of their own like that without some serious evidence. An 8 year old drivers license photo? Seriously? And while his family and friends were making asses of themselves at a bar in Lynwood, Will County Sheriff Paul Kaupas:

acknowledged that he had doubts about Dorian's involvement and continued to investigate the shootings even after the officer's arrest. "We were on the fence on this case," Kaupas said. "We had questions in our minds."

Well, laa-di-daa...Thanks for nothing asswipes. What a colossal failure and waste of time, money and completely unnecessary stress placed on all involved. I am ashamed at myself for believing it, or as one of my anonymous Facebook posters exclaimed:

I just want to say to everyone who posted shit and sent me messages for standing up and by Brian Dorian stand in line and take a turn eating crow!!!! And while your at it......KISS MY ASS!!!!!!!!!

C'est la vie! I don't feel like eating crow as I certainly wasn't sure but I am still not on board with the T-Shirt shit, innocent or not, that was some bullshit better kept quiet. So, lesson learned, next time one of your friends is arrested for a random, insane shooting spree, keep it on the down low so you don't embarrass your community. Seriously, people at work, random friends who didn't come from the area, the majority of the idgits who comment on the majority of the newspaper articles regarding this all thought the 'free Brian' T-shirt thing was dubious at best, insulting and asinine at worst.

In the end, they were right so it is really just water under the bridge at this point, better for him, his family and his friends that it worked out and he was surfing the internet instead of weirdly shooting at people while not envying them. Now the real question who the fuck DID do it? And while they are looking they could also take this advice:

"The Will County state's attorney owes the victims of the attacks, their families, Brian Dorian, the officers of the Lynwood Police Department and the residents of the village of Lynwood an apology for rushing to judgment, thereby causing a great deal of pain and suffering for everyone involved,"

Now, unless some shit changes (you never know) may I never mention the name Brian Dorian in my blog ever again! And so ends the 4-Dor Saga...Oh, and I never did mention what that meant, 4-Dor is what we called him back in grade school...Because he was kind of fat, you see...

4 Dor: Chapter 2, "I don't envy you guys."

FREE BRIAN!

Chapter 2 will be brief as there may not really be a whole lot of new news until November 9th, this according to a Facebook post:

The latest news..... the case was continued, Nov 9th. Keep praying and keep the Dorian family in yours thoughts. We love and support you Brian, we know you are INNOCENT

Frustrating this must be for the 'Free Brian' crowd as no new answers, or even new questions, were provided. I believe many had hoped that this small hearing would have the prosecution provide more charges, more evidence or more something. Instead Dorian appeared via video pleaded not guilty and according to the Chicago Tribune:

Dorian, dressed in a red jail jumpsuit, did not show any reaction during a proceeding that lasted about five minutes.

So, not clear as to where the 11/9 date came from but presumambly from someone who was at the hearing. Also from the same article linked above:

"Could you imagine your 95-year-old grandma being accused of something like this? That's what this is like," said Jennifer Jakubielski, a friend of Dorian's for more than 30 years. "He's just a kind hearted, gentle man."

Weird, but supportive. If you scan through comments on any article related to this case thus far you pretty much find the crowd less likely to wear 'Free Brian' T-shirts. IN fact, many of those people (and much can be said about the folks who comment on newspaper websites) are down right offended by this. And I tend to agree, even if he is innocent we simply do not know at this time and frankly, unless we are Brian Dorian or someone actually involved, we cannot know the truth at this time. The "Free Brian" movement, and the bar it seemed to be centered around, is in poor taste. I also would drop the whole association with Brian's favorite baseball team, I can't imagine the Boston Red Sox would be thrilled with their logo usage here nor is Brian 11.

I just can't help but think that it would be disgusting to see these things if I were one of the victims, or the victim's families. I would keep it dialed down and see what happens...And you can wear your t-shirts after he is cleared.

The Northwest Indiana Times, for all intensive purposes the local paper for the region down there, has run numerous articles about this case and one of the more "yellow journalism' style articles HAS to be this one.
Good neighbor says:

"We are just completely shocked," Graefen said. "We felt comfortable. We had a cop on the corner."

The article goes on to say:

People on the block knew Dorian was a police officer. He waved at kids and often was tapped to mediate neighbor disputes.

But then Bad neighbor comes along and says:

However, something about Dorian was unsettling to Raeanne Sparks, who lives across the street.
When her dog got loose or something un-neighborly happened, he would yell at her, inciting panic attacks that tightened her chest and made her gasp for air, she said.
He made it known to everyone he was a cop, finding excuses to move his jacket and display the gun holstered on his belt. Sparks said he gave the impression of, "I'm the law, I'm better than you."

I wonder which neighbor will get the free 'Free Brian' shirt? Furthermore, the other interesting tid-bit picked up in the Times came from this article:

"One thing he said to my nephew and the other two is, 'I don't envy you guys,' then he shot them," said Kristina Garza, a Merrillville attorney and aunt to victim Josh Garza, 19, of Dyer.

If he is guilty then they should put that on the T-shirts.

What a fucked up thing this is...I seriously don't know why I am so damn "involved" by playing reporter here, though I feel I am more chronicling this as it's not every day someone you grew up with spends a week in the local news cycle. It really has no bearing on me, other than to say that it is surreal to have shared a very similar background, upbringing, scholastic experience, et al. and we are so very different. Plus the added attraction of the alleged and utterly random psychopathic behavior. Anyone who looks into this would want to know why and therefore, so do I. More so simply because I am ever so slightly connected to it. It adds to the excitement and drama and also features some good old fashioned, hometown ignorance on display for all to see and prematurely judge. So, the story goes...

4-Dor: Chapter 1

What better reason to have a semi-quarterly post then finding out someone you went to kindergarten through high school with was recently arrested for a bizarre, random shooting spree and murder!

What has made this event a little more surreal than just seeing his mug on the news and repeatedly hearing his name on TV and so forth is the added attraction of having Facebook around to help chronicle this entirely weird, and somewhat unprecedented, local 'story.' Years ago, pre-internet and particularly pre-social-networking, when a class mate went on a crazy, random, shooting spree in rural, near-by, suburbs one had to rely purely on word-of-mouth, newspapers and perhaps regularly scheduled news broadcasts to get some idea of what may have happened. Unless you were actually really close to the person or persons involved or their families there was nothing but rumor and "what he/she said" to go on. Now-a-days, in addition to rumor, gossip and TV news you have near instant access to so much more information. Not that anything is any more clear or specific as people seem to get cloudier vision with more information and in some cases seem down right delusional...or at least in denial.

The basic gist of what happened is that last Tuesday, October 5th a person described as 'disheveled' arrived at a burned out house being rehabbed in Beecher, a far south suburb of Chicago, and apparently asked the three guys working there if he could have some of the plywood laying around. Then, for no known reason (at the time of this writing anyhow) he pulled out a handgun and shot two of the three construction workers; killing one, severely wounding another and the third got away into a near-by cornfield. About forty minutes later the same alleged gunman pulled along side a 64 year old farmer in Lowell, Indiana and apparently asked him about raising honeybees on his property then shot him in his pick-up truck, took his wallet and shot him again. Then drove off into local infamy.

It became a running news story, a mini-media-fueled-panic set in and rumors, tips and vague descriptions came pouring into local law enforcement and the shooter became unofficially known as the "Honeybee Killer" as all kinds of rumor and misinterpretation factored heavily into the case. Schools in Lowell went into lock down and for a time local law enforcement appeared completely clueless as there seemed to be no reasonable pattern, motivation or connection to any of the victims. It seemed a completely random act spurred along, seemingly, by a serving of coincidence...Especially, where the farmer was concerned. The surviving victims quickly worked with sketch artists and soon thereafter, by Thursday (I believe) there were two rather vague sketches out there and a lot of (probably) media generated panic.

Personally, I have been in my usual it's-fall-too-busy-for-everything modes and so paid scant attention to the whole "Honeybee" thing other than to note that several of my high school acquaintances who live in and around the south-suburban hometown, were posting often during the morning of the shooting. I also took a gander at the police sketches and remember thinking that he looked a little like someone I would have gone to high school with; the specific thought was, "Now, watch it WILL be someone I went to high school with." Lo and behold...

As an exercise in showing how Facebook gave us instant feedback as this drama began playing out, let us take a journey through some status updates from the week in question (authors kept anonymous):

"apparently there is some psychopath on foot with a gun in my neighborhood, now who's gonna walk my dog? *puts on Kevlar and practices karate chops*"

and:

"i'm going to cancel my XM radio immediately... i was driving around south holland and dolton all day today with no idea there was a madman on the loose... maybe if i'd had local radio on i would have known to be a little more cautious..."

And, some of the best 'updates' came from someone who has a police scanner and posts on Facebook fairly often:

"Some of the Lake County IN school districts are on lockdown, an escaped convict just shot a man in Lowell, stole his truck and his heading south!!!"

This same poster went on all day long with updates, expressing annoyance that the area was on lock down and there were cops everywhere and "they" couldn't catch anyone and so on.

"I'm beginning to wonder if they are ever gonna catch this guy......geeeeesh!!! I feel sorry for all the police working on this, there are TONS of calls coming in for the truck and pretty much any guy wearing a hat!!!"

My favorite:

"I am now going out to walk the pups..so if I'm not back in 10 minutes, you can assume the psycho nutcase has shot me!!!"

The next day:

"It amazes me how easy it was for someone to casually go around shooting 3 people and simply disappear......geeesh!!!"

And finally Friday morning:

"They Finally have the killer in custody!!"

Followed quickly with:

"So the Honeybee Killer was Arrested in Lynwood!! Nice!!"

Then:

"I Grew Up with the killer...holy shit!!"

Which I am fairly certain every member of our high school class, and many from classes before and after ours, and many, many others from in and around the area in general said something quite similar that day. Allow me to take a moment to say that though I went to school with him for some 14 years I didn't know him that well. I knew him well enough to know that he was a cop, have mutual Facebook "friends" who happen to also be "friends" with him online, and I also knew that he is not the kind of guy who one would think of pulling off a random shooting spree. Then again, who is? How many killers, serial or otherwise, do you hear people say, "Well, it was just a matter of time before they caught that murdering scumbag!"

Now, many have, myself included, posted an important reminder that people are innocent until proven guilty and that is supposed to be true (save for the court of public opinion) but man is it ever hard to swallow that they got the wrong guy. Several high school acquaintances, including those quoted above, are refusing to believe that Brian Dorian is the right guy. And honestly, someone you know who has never appeared to be wonky, depressed, or whatever pulls some totally random shit such as driving around randomly killing people I should think, "easy to believe" wouldn't be something you would be saying much either.

Being someone fairly detached from this whole thing, other than having the vague geographic and historical connection I already described, it truly is a sad state of affairs to behold even from afar. Naturally, and foremost, for the victims and their families but also for the people who know Brian...Especially for the ones who are supporting him, creating Facebook groups supporting him, praying for him, apparently raising money for him, because they simply cannot believe that he did this heinous act.

"Seriously I'm tired of reading shit already!! I've known Brian since kindergarten & he was the sweetest & nicest guy! He'd help anyone that needed it & give you the shirt off his back! quit talking shit if you didn't even know him DAMN!!"

"I have thought hard all day about this>>>> Brian we talk all the time, and when we spoke several days ago, I sensed nothing in your voice that would make me believe you were depressed or anything. You were very excited about the Kentucky property and all your great clover growing in the yard for the deer. I pray this is all a misunderstanding....."

One person said he had seen him that day, though his original post claiming he was at their house for coffee that day has been removed, someone else asked that friend if it was true that the friend saw him that day to which he responded:

"yea, he was normal just like any other day. Nothing makes sense, his hearing is tomorrow, I plan on going."

Nothing makes sense indeed. For these folk's sake I truly hope that this was some horrible misunderstanding. That said, and this is not just because the media paints a negative picture, cops don't publicly arrest other cops, and by inference condemn said cop's police station, without a real good fucking reason. They busted into his house at 1 am with a team and an arrest warrant and those things are not gotten, generally, on the basis of weak evidence. Not to say that it is impossible as there are plenty of innocent people arrested, even executed, on false or incorrect information. Hell, there was a guy who was just released from prison for a murder he apparently didn't commit in Zion just a few years ago. However, he wasn't a cop and, to me, that makes a hell of a lot of difference. Point being, the people quoted above will realize soon enough but this guy, this poor miserable soul, is more likely the murderer then not.

So, selling t-shirts and bracelets at the Mall and making 'Free Brian' baseball card style logos seem a bit premature as does, all things being equal, declaring him guilty with out possession of all the facts. But if he did do it, and is guilty, I certainly wouldn't want to be selling t-shirts with mocked up baseball cards proclaiming, "Free Brian" and staging ridiculous opportunities for media exploitation such as this (see also; Channel 2, Channel 7) Especially when all the facts are not in. There is a lot of emotion behind those poor folks and their somewhat dubious claim that they have evidence that proves his innocence but cannot say what it is. I am no legal expert so that could very well be appropriate tactics but I can't see how the truth, if their evidence is indeed the truth, could hurt his case.

But to each their own. It is heartbreaking to think they all have it wrong and he is indeed the killer. At this point, it's as easy to believe that he is this random, psychotic, sociopath as it is to believe that this apparently massive law enforcement task force was so desperate to bring someone in that they would go through all the trouble of bringing in a cop who might fit the description. It seems like a really, really big mistake if he is innocent. Not much has been said yet about what they have on him, what evidence and so forth but they have said there may be additional charges and now an anonymous source has been cited claiming:

One of the two men whom Lynwood police officer Brian Dorian is accused of shooting in a spree of violence last week has identified Dorian from a lineup as the shooter, sources said Monday.

I say it's not looking good for him right now...But we will see as this plays out as later today (October 12th, 2010) there will be a court hearing where we may get a clearer picture. As this post is getting lengthy and is quite chock full of speculation I will wrap this up now and call it, 'chapter 1' and wait and see. GUN SALE!

Ding-Dong, the gun ban is dead!

The Supreme Court of the Socialist States thatusedtahbe America has aligned itself confidently with the Secret-Muslim-Thugministration today by officially declaring Chicago (and Oak Park, Illinois') gun ban UNCONSTITUTIONAL! "President" Obozo is coming for your guns...I mean...*shoots ten rounds directly around your head*

So, at lunch today I stopped at one of those corner kiosks at a BP gas station, you know the ones that were selling shitty, "Blackhawk Stanley Cup T-Shirts" last week...Well today they started selling handguns and I bought me a couple silver six shooters and a fine, leather double holster. It's a beaut alright; then I rode on in to town and had me a shoot out right in downtown Oak Park. I kilt me a bunch of folks that needed some killin'! I got a couple dirty hippies, some homeless people, some welfare mommas (who were clutching their food stamps in their cold, dead hands), and a deer. Then I deputized myself and rode into Chicago and arrested the Mayor for hating America so much.

Sarcasm aside, I am fine with the ban of the handgun ban as there is no real purpose of banning handguns aside from it sounding important. I have noted a few "liberal" arguments that this now makes it free and clear for handguns to be on every corner and everything turning into the OK Corral and so forth which seems just about as ridiculous as the notion that banning handguns magically makes them disappear. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and see what Mayor Daley does to over legislate and likely over-regulate handguns in the city. But it also begs the question how anything will be any different, at least in the short term. It's not as if gun stores are going to pop up over night all over the city.

And one thing no one seems to concede is that there are fundamentally two groups of people interested in handguns; gun nuts and criminals. Why would it be that a large number of regular people would suddenly start packing? I suppose there will be a few folks who have either always wanted or already had a handgun; but are that many people gun curious that they were merely being held back by Chicago/Oak Park's handgun laws? Maybe there are loads of people who really do want to "feel safe" and never could unless they had a handgun. It's just hard to buy the whole protect the family, thwart the criminals, crime will go down cause the proverbial "they" will worry that everyone is armed arguments anymore than the city is somehow safer because there are unenforceable gun bans on the books.

Maybe I am wrong? Perhaps people will start frequenting the west and south sides more often now that they "feel safer" with a semi-automatic on their side! All those neglected shops and restaurants can finally see more business because crime will simply disappear. And say, gun stores themselves will bring "good" business back to the inner city! And speaking of shopping in the city...Do you think they will open a gun shop on the miracle mile? They ought to! Imagine how much a designer Glock .45 would go for on Michigan Avenue? Oh, and Mayor Daley...The taxes you could get, it would be like cigarettes and alcohol times ten! What's the one business that has seen a HUGE boost since 2008? The gun business! Now Chicago and Oak Park can finally take their piece of the handgun sale pie! Oak Park has a lot of cute shops and there just happens to be a few vacancies right now right in downtown Oak Park. They need something earthy and clever though, it can't just be some boring old "sports shop." Something kitschy like; Bang-Bang, KaBlam, or Frank Lloyd Shot. You can get a small pistol, matching purse/holster, and earthy floral print all in one trip!

Kidding aside, I have a hard time with this issue because it is fundamentally weak on all fronts as I find no compelling arguments for "gun control" nor do I find anything particularly important against "gun control." To me guns are things, tools, consumable goods, adult toys and I think, on both sides of the "gun control" argument, are taken way too seriously. Crime should be taken seriously, murder should be (and is) taken seriously and I don't think one person's murder gains or loses seriousness if they were killed by gun or by brick, right? So, to my heavy, anti-gun friends I say, "Relax, don't buy one, you don't need one!" And to my heavy, pro-gun friends I say, "You've won! The constitution and all that...And say, there are some other amendments you folks should put some of that lobbying muscle towards enforcing now that you're safely armed and able to defend your constitutional rights."

That's right gun nuts, this weekend, while you are busy protecting your family by patrolling around your house armed, you can think up ways to get the Supreme Court to enforce the fourth amendment! Illegal search and seizures, wire-tapping and so on...OH, OH, OH...You could also do worse then to look into the Seventh amendment! You know, the whole civil trial by jury thing...We seem to have gotten away from that in certain cases. Gosh, maybe you guys can start using your armed might to convince gas drilling companies to stop poisoning our drinking water! Aw hell, maybe we can just get our oil and gas companies to no longer be magically exempt from the safe drinking water act. Just a few ideas, you know, to help you and yours be a little safer in America.

Some how I get the feeling that none of THAT environmental jibber-jabber will happen, after all that's liberal nonsense and the constitution don't protect no terrorists! Plus drinking water doesn't need no some kind of "Big Government" regulation on it's back?!?

Bend over...Oil Spill has arrived!

As you may imagine after reading through my sparse, somewhat quarterly posts here that I clearly never would vote for Obama. I mean why would anyone even consider falling for that empty suit routine? Why would anyone, in good conscious, vote for that liberal liar Muslim? He clearly is dictating our new socialist government take over onto us freedom loving Americans whether we want it or not. I shore didn't vote for this guy and neither did a lot of people I know...I don't know who did and perhaps some kind of investigation should be started! Things were so good in this country before this Neo-Fascist-Liberal-Dictator lied his way into power! Now look what he did with his pretty speeches and aggressive liberal, new world order, tax increasing agenda?!?!

You KNOW in 2012 he will get run right out of office and whomever we elect next will surely be the actual savior and bring serious, proper, governing back to the United States of America. A government which will get off our backs, quit trying to tell us what kind of health care we can and can't get, get their fat-cat hands out of our corporations and off their backs, and then save us from corportations when they screw up in some major way.

Our next president will surely have the prescient foreseeability to accurately predict a man-made disaster and give a fired-up speech within just a few hours of whatever unspeakable environmental nightmare beginning. The speech, and later orchestrated media response, will be so impassioned and complete that whatever tragedy/environmental destruction/civilization ending plague it is, it will end and everything will be alright. Immediately.

No one will hang any administration ending misnomers on our next president, I tell ya, he or she will handle the unknown and known issues with a perfection never yet beheld. In fact, this measly, gulf-ending, multi-billion gallon oil spill, and all the years of damage and natural/environmental destruction, will also magically reverse itself the day after election day 2012! Hell, it's highly probable the oil well will still be belching eleventy billion barrels of crude per hour in 2012 anyway...So, President Not-Obama will plug that shit right up, right away...But only if YOU vote for him/her. President Not-Obama will have Kevin Costner's gills from 'Waterworld' and simply skip the whole inauguration ceremony, a clear waste of fine tax-payer money, and just dive right into the gulf and melt the gushing oil pipes with his or her laser vision!

Then President Not-Obama will launch into orbit and strategically eliminate all the illegal immigrants, lazy poor people (taking advantage of their high paying entitlements and not looking for a job), and anyone else who hate America or guns or money. Then President Not-Obama will dissolve the Middle East, well, at least the parts that want to blow us up...Then he/she will fly to Europe and use the invisible hand of the market to strangle the 'Euro' and Socialism into nothing. China, India and the rest of the Orientals will become so awe stricken by President Not-Obama's Laser vision, self propelled flight and access to the invisible hand that they will all just give up and immediately increase American product imports! Here at home, with the oppressive and lazy poor eliminated the rest of us can go back to work producing American products and exporting them while large populations of poor people in the other countries will die and become oil so that we may never run out. We can and will be NUMBER 1!!! THE WINNERS!!! UUUUUUU SSSSSSS AAAAAAA!!!

Now, there's actually some things regarding the oil spill one might criticize Obama about but ultimately the situation was and is out his control. It would still be gushing, and essentially murdering the Gulf, whether he gave an angry speech 3 weeks or 3 seconds after it began. It could be said that the MMS has a cozy, relationship with Big Oil and the regulations have not been adequately or properly regulated and what not since Obama has had the reins. I wonder what would be different if McCain and the Beauty Queen would have won the election...Would something be different now? Would something be different if Bush had won a third term? Somehow, I doubt it.

If there's anything one should criticize Obama about it how little change he has brought to the table. Yes, yes, yes health care and several other important things have happened. Oh, and why yes, Obama has merely been in office 1.5 years and cannot change the world overnight. I get that, which is why I am not standing at the ready with my torches and pitchforks. However, there is a boat load of things Obama has not readily changed on that whole civil liberties, endless-war, indefinite detention, unlawful imprisonment, actually closing Guantanamo, secret war conducting, drone assassinating, thing he keeps perpetuating. This was a large concern of mine whilst Dubya was in power was that once all these "war-time" provisions slipped into the fold under him no preceding presidents would relinquish it. Even the ones who expressly campaigned against most of the above.

I know, BIG SURPRISE! A politician lied! Whoa, blow me down with wide-eyed cynicism. I surely expected much of the Obama change machine to be empty and I always suspected the great Democratic-Clintonista Compromise machine to surely in full effect (i.e. see 'Public Option' in the health care bill, National Guard troops being sent to the border, anything to do with Joe Lieberman, and the declaration for more drilling a few weeks prior to beginning of the slow, public murder of the Gulf). I guess the naive part of me that bought into Obama was the part that heard him talk about all the unconstitutional jibber-jabber and I bought that he would work really hard to roll a lot of the neo-conservative horse shit right out. Instead he has hung onto to it for reasons I don't quite understand and it is getting harder and harder to pretend that it's because he is working on some master plan that will see these wars end. Or that there is some unbelievable SOMETHING I can't know about because that THEY must persevere with this disgusting, ugly, horror show bullshit. Which also keeps the America Hate a flowing so that this "war" may never end. After all, it's supposed to be good for the economy.

Another thing that the socialist, Muslim, thuggish, too big, government of high taxation is mulling over is additional ways to fuck us hard by getting all thrifty with the spending. Now job benefit extension is out, and various and sundry discussions are being had about how the children will be paying our debt off forever because the deficit is SO scary. Which seems to only really matter to our rich masters and not to anyone else who is out of work...Seemingly permanently. But fuck those lazy fuckers in their lazy, good for nothing asses. Those people are clearly living high on the hog using MY MONEY and that unemployment percentage is so high because they don't need to look for a job because they are getting undeserved handouts to live on. Those entitled, lazy shits need to learn a lesson and get a gawd damn job...somewhere...

So, back on topic to that Oil Spill...There is little that personally thrills me more than ocean life. Being landlocked with an ear issue that keeps me out of the water I have an unnatural fascination with the ocean blue and it's kabillion life forms. It saddens me to a point that I can't really express when this sort of thing happens. We already are doing our human best to destroy and over fish the oceans in the best of times let alone this horrid, wanton destruction. Hopefully, it will bounce back over the next several decades. So, I am not wasting energy blaming Obama as there is really little point. I blame BP some, I blame the Oil industry some too, and the other corporate whore companies who have been grifting us, and everything else forever anyway, some too. The real culprits, as so often it is, is ME...And you...And everyone else is this fat, stupid country. We piss away so many resources one water bottle at a time, one tank of gas shopping for petroleum based "products" at at time that we cannot even begin to see past our own, fat, zitty, noses. We never seem to learn either and that, ultimately, is what breaks my heart.

My favorite part is the gun stuff because no one is talking about doing anything with the "sacred" 2nd Amendment (with exception of the Supreme Court likely over turning Chicago's evil gun ban) and these people are fucking CERTAIN Obama will be coming after their guns any minute now. Lord knows the G.O.P. is too busy screaming NO like children and trying to figure out how best to channel the Tea Party's messy energy into Republican votes.

Republican nay-saying would be fine if they said something like, "No, and here's something better..." Well, Ok, lately, largely I think due to Mr. Bipartisan-Fantasy-World holding a summit on Health Care several Republicans turned up with a few points to make. Which is nice, it almost seemed like some form of governing was going to happen. Almost. Too bad they can only govern with talking points derived from fantastical points of view that seem to best favor 1950's America and the white males who loved it. Always with the Ayn Randian jerk off screed about the unregulated FREE market will fix it all...As if the meltdown or the Bush years never happened.

The first line, really paragraph, sort of says everything you need to know, doesn't it?

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this whole letter is from one of them or, more likely, one of the Tea Party websites. I have a hard time believing some random commenter wrote this. Oh yeah, sort of a disclosure: I found this letter in the comments for a Chicago Tribune article a few months ago about health care, I believe (but it could have easily been about Obama, the weather or pretty much any article posted on that website).

He, and this only could have been written by a he, goes on to talk about his heritage doing all this work to make his nation into his ideal. That made me wonder if he is a Native American. Oh right, we killed most of them and left the rest to be drunk and poor in the desert somewhere. At any rate, it is beyond ironic that this class of "real Americans" are so busy crabbing about entitlements all the while constantly extolling that they are entitled all this self-absorbed, bullshit, "This land is OUR land," entitlement.

Although, the military can provide JOBS (that wont be taken by India!) that sometimes include flying to some other country and killing brown people!!! GOT IT!

That stronger military will magically pay for itself and surely if we just shut off the hose on those pesky entitlement programs the poor/disadvantaged/unemployed/Fire & Police Departments/State Government offices/DMVs/IRS/Social Security/Federal Reserve will just disappear in a puff of patriotic smoke with nary a whimper.

What, ya'all ain't rich? Well, if it weren't for all those damn taxes *shakes fist at something*!!! I can actually get behind this with exception that average people CAN run for office just no one will ever give a shit because you have no money machine or media to support you. SUCKERS!

They are always climbing right up our asses, aren't they? Every time I go near a government building they run right out of their office and stick a finger in my ass then start asking all kinds of nosey questions about my personal life...AND THAT HAS GOTTA STOP!?!?! don't you get the sense that all these values tend to contradict each other? They kind of do, it's like these wing-nuts have become like liberals in that they are all kind of going in different directions now. Some are gun nuts while others are deficit hawks while others still are more libertarian, anti-government types. Why golly, it sounds a whole lot like herding cats, don't it?

"English As Core Language Is Required."

The person who made this list might need some help with proper capitalization and sentence structure. I am not even certain what they mean by "core language" but I am figuring they don't/can't learn no Spanish talk...And why should they? Oughtta' be a law! Arrogant bilingual fucks should be shot into space where they belong with the rest of the eggheads. This one, aside from allusions to government spending on things other than the military, is where some of the racist venom starts seeping in...And speaking of bigotry:

"Traditional Family Values Are Encouraged."

So, whose family values are being encouraged now? And who gets to decide which ones are traditional? Will gay people get to become traditional now or does that leave them out again? Is this about gay marriage or abortion? Or both? Probably both, which also implies a healthy dose of Christianity too, right? Separation of church and state be damned if you ain't down with us then you don't DESERVE to blah blah blah...Jingoistic, xenophobic, fancy worded, old fashioned white hatred is what this whole thing is really all about.

This whole fifteen mile long blog post out of nowhere (actually I have been working on it off and on for three or four months:-) really can be summed up in one stupid sentence*: Middle aged, conservative white folk need to get over themselves. Oh, and I forgot to add one more little thing, ya know, to keep it nice and arrogant...
